John S. Brana’s collections of unique handcrafted jewelry, made from high quality and hand picked materials, is characteristic of the designer’s main inspiration: Mother Nature.

Brana states, “Nature is my primary source of inspiration. Whether I’m driving down the coast, strolling through a park, or tending my garden, the natural world shows that the creative combinations of colors, textures, patterns, shapes, and symbols are endless.”
Brana’s latest collection of earrings features beautiful, lightweight, and colorful pieces reminiscent of lily pads floating on a pond’s surface. The artist’s original designs and finely detailed accents set the earrings a part from the crowd and classify them as works of art at accessible price points.
All earrings in this collection are made of handcrafted copper, aluminum, and sterling silver leaf with red and turquoise patina. More colors and styles will be available, including tiered pendant necklaces and bracelets with the same leaf inspiration. The artist creates all of his jewelry in his studio in San Francisco.

After a successful jewelry trunk show, October 3-4, Bloomingdales – Stanford has invited John S. Brana back for a season-long series of Holiday 2009 Shopping Events!

During his first weekend trunk show at Bloomingdale’s – Stanford this October, John S. Brana showcased just how popular his handcrafted, nature-inspired jewelry designs are with the Bloomingdale’s shopper. To celebrate this success, Bloomingdale’s – Stanford has invited John S. Brana back for a series of five subsequent holiday trunk shows beginning in November. All shows occur in conjunction with various Bloomingdale’s shopping promotions and sales, and shoppers will receive special pricing on jewelry by John S. Brana as well. Each trunk show will occur between 12:00pm to 6:00pm on the following dates:  November 13-14, November 27-29, December 5-6, December 19-20, December 26-27.

John S. Brana will reveal his nature-inspired jewelry collection, Muir Woods, this Saturday at a trunk show in San Francisco. “I’ve been experimenting with different patinated processes to create bold and very unique hues of turquoise, green, orange, fire red and goldenrod.”  Each piece looks hand-painted but is actually created using various chemical process of metal oxidization, thus making each a one-of-a-kind jewelry piece.  Read the rest of this entry »
